Crochet flower motifs are versatile, beautiful, and surprisingly simple to make. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced crocheter looking for a quick project, flower motifs can add charm and creativity to your work.
In this article, we’ll guide you through making super easy crochet flower motifs that you can use for various projects like blankets, bags, or even as standalone decorations.
I will try to explain the making of a very beautiful crochet pattern. I have two skeins of yarn, green and off-white, and I used a size 6 hook, which is 1.4 mm. You can choose a hook that feels comfortable in your hands. Now, let’s move on to the tutorial.
I’m starting with 6 chains:
I go back into the first chain, pull my loop through, and use the slip stitch technique to join.
I chain 2 and then start making double crochets into the ring. We will make 20 double crochets into this ring.
Continue like this until you complete 20 double crochets.
After finishing the 20 double crochets, join to the top of the first chain with a slip stitch.
For the next round:
Chain 2.
Into the same stitch, make another double crochet.
In each stitch around, make 2 double crochets (an increase in every stitch).
Continue until you have 40 double crochets in total.
Join the round with a slip stitch.
For the third round:
Chain 2.
Into the next stitch, make 1 double crochet.
In the following stitch, make 2 double crochets (an increase).
Alternate between 1 double crochet in one stitch and 2 double crochets in the next until you have a total of 60 stitches.
Join the round with a slip stitch and fasten off the yarn with a long tail for sewing. Pull the yarn through to secure it. Repeat this process until you have six identical circles.
Now that the white portion is done, we will move on to the green section.
Place two motifs with their wrong sides together. Starting at the joining points, insert your hook and pull up a loop with the green yarn. Secure it with a slip stitch, chain 1, and begin working single crochets.
Work 18 single crochets along the edge of the first motif, stopping at the 19th stitch. Switch to the second motif, aligning the edges. Work 18 single crochets on the second motif as well. Continue in this manner, joining the motifs with single crochets.
When you reach the last motif, close the loop by joining it to the first motif with single crochets.
After joining all six motifs, we will fill the central space. For this, work single crochets into the gaps between the stitches of the joined motifs. Proceed all the way around the circle, ensuring you create a tight, uniform finish.
Once the center is complete, fasten off your yarn, leaving a long tail. Use this tail to sew decorative beads onto the center of the motifs. This adds a lovely touch to the pattern.
This pattern is perfect for making blankets, bedspreads, or even large decorative projects. The motifs are beautifully large and look stunning when joined together. Thank you for watching, and I hope you enjoy creating this project! If you need further assistance or formatting changes, let me know! 😊
